Start-Up Kit

The Organic Aqua Start Up Kit is designed for use in both new and existing systems and contains enough of the product to start up and maintain an aquarium for 4 weeks. After this time one maintenance kit is required every 4 weeks.

New hobbyists can now purchase fish immediately after they have set up their new system, eliminating the need to wait 2-3 weeks for their biological filter to mature.

Organic Aqua also eliminates the need to perform water changes every 2 weeks.

By doing a 25% water change every 4 weeks and washing the filter media as instructed, your tank will remain sufficiently clean.

Directions

1. Empty the contents of both sachets (Health Treatment and B-bac) and one quarter of the bottle (General Treatment) into the tank,
2. Fill the tank with water (check with your local supplier that your water is suitable for the species of fish you want to keep),
3. Ensure all the equipment is working properly and water is the correct temperature,
4.  Acclimatise the fish properly and release them into their new Organic Aqua home!

Please Note

1. When converting an existing system to Organic Aqua, firstly perform a ONE OFF 75% water change (a great opportunity to do a really good clean out!) and add the Organic Aqua Start Up Kit to the new water being replaced. Add water slowly to reduce the stress to the existing stock. Always check that the pH and temperature are ok before doing this.
2. If you are not adding your fish immediately, do not add the product to the tank until you are about to add the fish.

Maintenance Kit

Organic Aqua Maintenance Kits are designed for use on a 4 weekly basis after the completion of an Organic Aqua Start Up Kit.

This allows for a 25% water change and gravel clean.

It is essential to wash all filter media in tap water at this stage to ensure that your filter does not become too biologically active and collect too much gas producing waste.

Directions

1. Remove 25% of the water.
2. Add all of the Health Treatment and B-bac
3. Fill the tank up again with suitable water, again checking the pH and temperature are similar.
4. Add a quarter of the bottle of General Treatment.

ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT FOR USING ORGANIC AQUA

1. Air Pump: This is now the sole component responsible for maintaining water quality in your tank and must always remain on, running an airstone positioned in the opposite end of the tank to the filter.
2. Filter: A mechanical filter is the best way to maintain adequate circulation in your system and also helps keep the water free of debris. The addition of   adsorbing media like carbon can also be administered to the water but is not essential
3. Heater: Only for use if you are keeping tropical species.

ESSENTIAL DON`TS FOR USING ORGANIC AQUA

1. Biological Filter. Considered essential in all other systems, biological filters produce vast amounts of nitrate which are generally not broken down resulting in more maintenance. It is essential therefore to ensure that any filter you may use does not become too biologically active (WASH ALL FILTER MEDIA IN TAP WATER ONCE EVERY 4 WEEKS).
2. Tight fitting lids. Organic Aqua breaks waste into a harmless gas which needs adequate room to escape or it will become reabsorbed into the water and cause algae. If you are in any doubt over the suitability of your lid please ask your local supplier or contact us on our website.
